The Socket Seat holds 4.3 stars across 4,500+ ratings on Amazon (opens in a new tab), where it has been sold since long before this page existed — Aylio has been making cushions since 2013, and has sold to more than 750,000 customers across its products since 2008.
It is a 4.3, not a 5, and we would rather explain that than hide it. This is a deliberately firm cushion with a specific geometry: when it matches your body, the reviews read one way; when someone buys it without checking fit, they read another. The 4.3 is two groups of people averaged together.

Where it loses people
Our own pages say this before any reviewer has to, so here it is in one place. It is deliberately firm, and the first week feels like a downgrade if you are coming from plush foam. The openings are set 6″ apart, which suits sit-bone widths of roughly 3.6–6.7″ — measure before you buy, because no cutout cushion works when the geometry is wrong. And it adds about 2″ of height, which matters in low-roof cars. The foam density is tuned for adults of roughly 110–295 lbs; the bigger-bodies page explains where that range comes from.
The reverse failure — the one that fills this category’s negative reviews — is the plush cushion that feels perfect in week one and flattens quietly by month three. Of the two ways a cushion can disappoint, ours is the one you can feel on day one and return inside the trial.
